Oct 15 –  Deadline for 6th grade physicals to be turned in

Oct 17 – Recheck for Vision & Hearing

Oct 18 – Parent Teacher conferences after school – 2:04 dismissal

Oct 19 – No school – Parents Teacher conferences

Oct 26 – Abraham Lincoln Assembly 10:30am

Oct 31 – 11:18 Dismissal – no lunch (no after school tutoring)

Nov 4 – Daylight savings time Ends

Nov 6 – Boys Basketball Pictures

Nov 21,22,23 – No School – Thanksgiving Holiday

Dec 24 – Jan 7 – No School – Christmas/New Year’s holiday. School resumes Jan 8th.

The Oct.9 f/s football game vs. Princeville has been moved to Monday, October 8. Start time is 6pm at Stark County.


Student council – meeting today during 8th hour


Book Club Meeting – Friday October 9 in the library 8th hour


Picture Retakes will be next Thursday, October 11th.  Any absent student or students that need pictures re-taken, please stop in the office for an order form.


Science Olympiad – There will be an informational meeting for those interested in participating in Science Olympiad this year on Wednesday, October 10th during 8th period in Room (information in the office)

Have you ever imagined being a doctor or a nurse, an engineer or a scientist?  Do you have an interest in exploring science or in designing creative and useful inventions?  Then Science Olympiad may be the activity that is right for you.  It combines the joy of scientific discovery with competitive events in which you can earn awards.  Come find out what Science Olympiad is all about and what events will be offered this school year.


Stark Smart – will be carving pumpkins after school on Tuesday, October 16.  See Mrs. Ford or Mrs. Stoner for permission slips


Abraham Lincoln – will be visiting JH on Friday, October 26, 2018, for a 10:30 school-wide assembly.

Toulon Courthouse – on Saturday, October 27.  Courthouse Activities include:

Saturday’s Events:

  • 9:00 am parade
  • 9:30 am program in front of the Stark County Courthouse, including:

o   Third graders and JH/HS performing (Thanks, Brenda!)

o   “Abraham Lincoln,”portrayed by Fritz Klein

o   Kelley Clausing , Lincoln expert and researcher at Lincoln Presidential Library

o   Jim Owens, Stark County States Attorney

o   Dave Clark, retired newspaperman

o   33rd Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regimental Band
